Despite the current restrictions around COVID 19 Drogheda based organisation Development Perspectives is delighted to have completed the first weekend of their altered SDG Advocate Training.

The 2020 SDG Advocate Training, a programme which allows advocates to deepen their understanding of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals and lead transformative change in their communities and Ireland.

In previous years this training would have included residential stays and a two-week phase in Tanzania or Vietnam, however this year the programme has been moved, like many other things, to an online space.

Participants logged into Zoom where they were met with facilitators form Development Perspectives who took them through workshops on an introduction to development theories, reflection practices and, of course, the Sustainable Development Goals. SDG Advocate Trainer Nick Doran says "The 2020 SDG Advocate programme got off to a really exciting start with a really diverse and already widely active group of advocates who bring so much knowledge to the table - we're excited to see the projects they develop as part of the training."

The SDG Advocates will come together again in July to continue their training. Keep an eye on Development Perspectives social media channels to follow their journey.
