Hosted by Trócaire and facilitated by Development Perspectives - an interactive and participative morning workshop on the art and craft of Storytelling for Development.
Storytelling has had a huge impact on the practice of development since the 1940s. The power of story lies in the belief behind the story rather than the evidence or facts which underpin it. This can have very positive or negative consequences for our shared practice. Furthermore, social media has allowed people and organisations to share their stories widely which increases the need for critical literacy and informed debate on hot topics such as migration, climate change, inequality or poverty more generally.
