Margaret Downey - Co-founder of Development Perspectives
Margaret holds a BA in Development Studies (Kimmage Development Studies Centre). Her background is in preventative healthcare and has worked for a number of years as a “Complementary Therapist”. Margaret has a keen interest in ‘development education’ as she believes that the development process is intrinsically linked with learning. She has travelled extensively and lived abroad for some time. Her involvement with ‘Sonairte-the National Ecology Centre’ has led to her awareness concerning the importance of environmental issues for our sustainable future. Margaret’s primary interests lie in health and gender issues and would like to pursue her future career in both or either of these specific areas. She is also a member of Amnesty International and is a passionate advocate for human rights.
